Returns and Exchanges

What is your return and exchange policy?

We want you to love your Birdies. If you're not completely satisfied with your shoes, we will accept a return or exchange within 30 days of the purchase date, no questions asked. That's right—wear your Birdies around the house and even take them for a walk outside to make sure the fit and comfort are just right. If something feels off, shipping's on us for returns and exchanges in the US. You can begin your return or exchange by visiting our Returns Center


Once you receive a shipping label, please ship the order back to us within 14 days of requesting the return. We will issue a refund to the original form of payment once we receive your goods. If you have selected an exchange, we will send out the new order 1 to 3 days after the shoes you're returning are scanned by the carrier. You can drop off your return at any USPS location within 14 days. Pro Tip: An exchange request does not hold inventory so to guarantee you receive the desired pair of Birdies we suggest you return and repurchase the item you want. 
 
If you're outside the 30-day window but your Birdies are unworn and you would like more information about returning or exchanging them, please reach out to us at help@birdies.com with photos of your shoes.
 
Please note: Products marked as final sale are not eligible for return or exchange. Monogrammed Birdies are also final sale due to their customized nature, and we cannot offer returns or exchanges unless there is a product defect.
 
If your shoes came in a dust bag, it must be sent back with the return. Total refund will be deducted if it is not included with your return.


What is Happy Returns?

Happy Returns is a simpler, more sustainable way for you to return or exchange your Birdies. Simply initiate your return via our Returns Center and opt to drop your Birdies off at one of Happy Returns’ 5,000+ Return Bars across the United States. Click here to locate the Return Bar nearest to you.
 
Please note: not all products are eligible for the Happy Returns return/exchange method. If you do not see the Happy Returns option as you initiate your return via our Returns Center, we will provide instructions on how to print the return label and drop your Birdies off to the logistics carrier.
 
If you do choose to return via Happy Returns, you will receive an email with a QR code that you will then show at your local Return Bar. Without a QR code, they will not be able to accept your return, so please be sure to initiate the return online and get a QR code before heading to a Return Bar. If you cannot locate the email, please contact our support team at help@birdies.com for further assistance. Once your return is accepted, your refund, store credit, or exchange will be processed within 24 hours.
 
Please be sure to return all items received in your order, including the shoe box and dust bag, if applicable.


Can I return my online purchase in-store?

Yes, just have your order number or email used to purchase handy.


When will my exchange order ship?

If you have selected an exchange, we will send out your new order 1 to 3 days AFTER the shoes you're returning are scanned by the carrier and in transit back to us. A quicker way to exchange your shoes is to place a new order for the size you would like and return the original order without an exchange.


I received a pair of birdies as a gift, how do I return or exchange them?

If you are not satisfied with your Birdies we will gladly accept a return or exchange of your unworn Birdies. You can process through our Returns Center - you will be given the option to either return or exchange for a new style, color or size. Please reach out to help@birdies.com for further questions or needs. 


What happens if the item I want to exchange for is sold out?

If you process an exchange, it is possible that by the time your return reaches us, the new item may be out of stock. If this is the case, a refund will be issued back to the original form of payment. 


I purchased a pair of monogrammed Birdies, can I return or exchange them?

No. Monogrammed orders are final sale and cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged. However, if there is a defect in your shoes, please email us at help@birdies.com.


How do I return from Canada?

We offer returns on all eligible items within 30 days from the date of purchase. However, we do not currently provide a return shipping label for orders from Canada. You are responsible for shipping your return to Birdies, at your own cost. Shipping fees, duties and taxes are non-refundable. At this time, we do not offer exchanges on Canadian orders.

If you would like to reclaim the duties paid, please download this FORM from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). To complete the form, you will need 2 pieces of supporting documentation to be refunded by CBSA:


1. Your order refund confirmation receipt from Birdies which will be emailed to you once the refund has been issued. 


2. The import details report that shows how much was paid in duties and taxes. To get this report, please email our international shipping carrier with your Passport Tracking # in the subject line to returns@passportshipping.com and they will reply with the necessary document.


You will only be able to submit for a refund of your duties and taxes once the refund for your order has been issued by Birdies. Submitting this form and documentation pertains to receiving a refund on your duties and taxes from the CBSA, not the non-refundable shipping cost charged by Birdies.

How do I return from the UK or Australia?

We offer returns on all items within 30 days from the date of purchase. However, we do not currently provide a return shipping label for orders from the UK or Australia. You are responsible for shipping your return to Birdies, at your own cost. Shipping fees, duties and taxes are non-refundable. At this time, we do not offer exchanges on international orders.

Shipping

What are the shipping options in the US?

Please be aware that, because of increased health and safety protocols at our warehouse and in deliveries nationwide, your delivery time may be affected. With carrier transit times and delays out of our control, we’re unable to guarantee delivery timeframes right now.

Free U.S. ground shipping: Your shoes are estimated to arrive within 3 to 8  business days with current transit delays. We also have free return shipping in the U.S. Hawaii and Alaska shipping takes up to 15 days with current transit delays.

Expedited Shipping: We charge $25 and you should expect your shoes to arrive within 2 to 3 business days. All shipping charges are non-refundable.


U.S. Territory Shipping: We charge $25 for shipping to American Samoa, Micronesia, Guam, Marshall Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. U.S Territory orders are estimated to arrive within 2 to 5 business days.


Does Birdies offer buy online pick-up in stores? 

Yes, if a product is available for pick-up at our San Francisco store location you will see the option to select ‘Pick Up’ as a delivery option at checkout. Orders are typically ready to be picked up 4 hours after an order has been placed.


Are there currently any delays with shipping?

We are experiencing transit delays due to current circumstances in the postal system. We are doing our best to get your order to you as quickly as possible, but delivery could take up to 14 business days. Your order might see various stops along the route—rest assured that your package is making its way to you. We appreciate your patience and truly value your business. How can I track my order?

We will email you a shipping confirmation with your tracking number as soon as the order is sent. Your order might see various stops along the transit route, but rest assured that your package is making its way to you.


What if my order is lost or stolen?

Birdies is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages. To help you with these issues, Birdies offers Route Insurance which covers your order 100% if it gets lost, stolen, or damaged. You can choose to add this protection to your order at checkout or reach out to help@birdies.com for further assistance.


Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We currently ship to Canada, the UK and Australia. These options will be available when entering your address at checkout. Orders shipping internationally can take 7 to 15 days to arrive. Shipping costs: $10 to Canada and the UK and $20 to Australia.

We want you to have your shoes as soon as possible, so you’ll be charged these nonrefundable shipping, duties and taxes at checkout. This saves you the hassle of completing a complicated customs payment process that could delay your delivery. And we definitely don’t want that.


DO YOU SHIP ORDERS TO THE UK? IF SO, HOW WILL ORDERS TO THE UK BE SHIPPED?

Yes, we ship to the UK. To get your orders to you, we've partnered with Passport Shipping and they will be the Seller for all orders to the UK £135 and under.


A note about duties and taxes: We want you to have your shoes as soon as possible, so you’ll be charged these nonrefundable fees at checkout. This saves you the hassle of completing a complicated customs payment process that could delay your delivery. And we definitely don’t want that.


WHAT U.S. TERRITORIES DO YOU SHIP TO? 

We currently charge $25 to ship to American Samoa, Micronesia, Guam, Marshall Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Shipping cost will be added at checkout.

What sizes do birdies come in?

Birdies are available in whole and half sizes from 5-12, excluding 11.5.


Do birdies have arch support?

Yes, Birdies have arch support and a heel cookie for added comfort.


Will my birdies stretch?

Yes, Birdies will stretch and mold to your foot.


Do birdies fit both wide and narrow feet?

Yes!  Birdies fit wide and narrow feet. Given all of the comfort features built into Birdies, they will mold to your feet over time. Our Starling in Black Velvet and Latte Suede also now come in regular or wide width.


How does sizing run for birdies?

Most of our styles fit true to size. Birdies should fit snugly at first and will stretch and mold to your foot. Look for detailed sizing notes in the product description for each pair of Birdies when browsing on the website, or you can visit our detailed Size Guide page for detailed information by style. Please review the notes for the Birdies you are ordering to get the right size.

CAN I MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO MY ORDER AFTER IT HAS BEEN PLACED?

We cannot guarantee that your changes will be applied, but if you email help@birdies.com, we will do our best to accommodate any changes you may need with regards to sizing, color, or style, as well as shipping address changes and cancellations of orders. We cannot, however, add items to an order after it has been placed.


CAN I BUY BIRDIES AS A GIFT?

Product Features

How do you clean your birdies?

We recommend sprinkling the inside with baking soda when they get a bit dirty. It will absorb and freshen them up a bit, and you can dump out any excess baking soda that does not absorb. As for the outside, we recommend using a soft bristled brush to wipe away any dirt or spots, but do keep your Birdies away from water.

THE PAIR I WANT IS SOLD-OUT, WHAT CAN I DO?

We're sorry about that! Our seasonal colors are typically created in small batches, and once they're sold-out, we typically don't bring them back.

However, there is a small chance that a few more pairs will trickle into inventory. To be notified of your desired style and size coming back in stock, be sure to join the waitlist when you select your size online to ensure that you're the first to know once they are available again.

You can also reach out to our San Francisco store by calling (415) 263-9668 to see if they have your desired Birdies in stock.

We release new colors many times a year, so hopefully, you can find a pair of Birdies that fit your style!


Are birdies insoles removable?

The insoles in our washable Swift Sneakers, Cardinal Sneakers, Roadrunner Sneakers, and Falcon Booties are removable. Insoles in other Birdies styles are not currently removable or interchangeable.


Are birdies waterproof?

Our Falcon Booties are water resistant. We recommend keeping Birdies away from rain and moisture.


Are birdies vegan?

Birdies offers multiple vegan options, which can be found here. When browsing our products, look out for a leaf icon which indicates if a shoe is vegan.

Monogramming

Do you offer monogramming?

Yes, we offer monogramming services in our San Francisco store. Please visit us in person at 1934 Union Street or call (415) 263-9668 to learn more.

We also offer monogramming via our website on The Phoebe in Cream Faux Fur and Black Faux Fur and our best selling Starling in Black Velvet in three font options and three thread color options. Monogramming incurs an additional $35 charge at checkout. 

Note: due to the personalized nature of these products, all monogrammed shoes are final sale, and are not eligible for returns or exchanges. If you are unsure about sizing, please reach out to our customer service team to assist you prior to placing your order.


How long does it take for a monogram order to process? 

Please expect a 3 week lead time for us to work on your monogrammed shoes to get them just right.


What order should the letters in my monogram go in? 

If you select our Block Font style: we recommend either putting your first initial on both shoes or your first initial on the right shoe and last initial on the left shoe.

If you select our Monogram Font style: we recommend following the cadence of a traditional monogram with first initial, last initial, then middle initial. 


How do I edit my monogram?

If you’ve already input your initials and added your monogrammed product to your cart and need to make a change, go ahead and remove the item from your cart and restart the process. 

Please be sure to double check your initials before placing an order, as they cannot be changed once an order has been placed. 


Payments

I referred my friend, when do I get my credit?

Once your friend uses the referral code, it can take up to 24 hours for our system to issue your code. If you do not receive it within this timeframe, please reach out to us at help@birdies.com.


Does birdies offer a digital gift card?

Yes. Our Digital Gift Card arrives to the recipient via email, either instantly or on the date selected by the gift giver at time of purchase. The Digital Gift Card is redeemable both online at birdies.com and in-store. All Gift Cards purchased are final sale.


Does birdies collect sales tax?

We are required to charge sales tax in certain states. Birdies charges all applicable sales taxes based on an order's shipping address.


When will my card be charged?

Your card will be charged when you place your order.


Is it safe to use my credit card on your website?
